I wrote an impromptu novella in the middle of NaNoWriMo- something I had not planned at all but flowed from my fingers unlike anything I had written in a long time. Here is a little info on it:
Genres: Fantasy, Romance, Drama
Working Title: Unbroken Promise
Description: A retelling of the Abduction of Persephone, focusing on women's choices and agency, how a mother can love but that love still be toxic, and the way a bi woman exists as queer even when with a male partner. It also plays on tropes of fake relationship and mutual pining to fluff up the serious stuff.
While I was working on it, I plundered the internet for retellings of this myth and wanted to make a post of what I liked best. It's interesting to see myth taken into the hands of women and how it changes the voice and focus on a piece.

Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe:
https://www.webtoons.com/en/romance/lore-olympus/list?title_no=1320 - I like this because it uses a lot of the gods, and there are strong female relationships. The H/P relationship is very sweet. The art style of this is very pretty, though it leans heavily on cliche cis male/female body portions (think, bad video games) and this can be off putting. It is also very straight. Updates Weekly. TW: sexual assault.
Sephie by Izzi Ward:
https://tapas.io/episode/218325 - This is a newer comic, lovely art and character designs. I don't know if it will have any H/P, but the focus on Persephone is very good. It is a fantasy retelling with WLW mage Persephone. Updates biweekly. No TWs yet.
The Family Party and other stories by Theia Mania:
http://theia-mania.smackjeeves.com/comics/2253194/the-family-party-1/ - Gosh, these are wonderful comics that take a deep dive into Greek myth. Several of the gods and goddesses (including Demeter) are queer, which is lovely. How women lived in Greek times is a focus, as are women/goddesses in general. The art is nice, good character design. TW: incest, discussions of sexual assault and abortion
